It's important to note that parking fees may apply in some areas, and availability can vary, especially during peak times. It's advisable to arrive early to secure a spot, especially if you plan on spending a full day enjoying the sun and surf at Ka'anapali Beach.

Makena Beach: Big Waves and Breathtaking Views

Makena Beach, or as the locals call it, Big Beach, lives up to its name. It's a haven for surfers, beach lovers, and those seeking pure relaxation. The gigantic size of the beach is matched only by the stunning views it offers. As you bask in the sun or take a dip in the refreshing waters, you can't help but be captivated by the beauty of the nearby islands. And if you're an experienced surfer, catch some epic waves here! But be warned: these waves are heavy and even if you are an experienced surfer elsewhere, you may not be used to this kind of wave. In fact, Big Beach sends tourists to the ER with neck or spine injuries regularly. Watch locals, and see how they navigate the waters before full-sending it.

There are several parking lots and entrances to Makena Beach. However, amenities are limited as there are no showers or bathrooms here, just portapotties.
